Amapiano Feed

1
What is the Amapiano Feed?
The Amapiano Feed on the homepage is a live activity stream showing everything happening on the site — royalty crownings, new events, private parties, dance video submissions, DJ posts and gossip. It updates automatically as activity happens.
2
Filter the Feed
Use the filter pills above the feed — All, Royalty, Events, Parties, Dance, DJ Post, Gossip — to focus on one type of activity. Click any item in the feed to jump straight to the relevant page.
3
Top SA DJs Card
The pinned card at the top of the feed always shows the current Top 5 South African DJs with live vote counts. Click any name to visit their profile or click Vote to go to the leaderboard.

Voting for DJs

1
Go to Vote DJs
Click Vote DJs in the navigation. You'll see four category tabs: South African DJs, African DJs, International and UK DJs.
2
Pick Your Category
Select a category tab. You can cast one vote per category, so you can vote in all four categories for different DJs.
3
Cast Your Vote
Scroll through the ranked list and click the Vote button next to your favourite DJ. The leaderboard updates instantly. You can change your vote at any time by clicking a different DJ in the same category.
4
Visit a DJ Profile
Click any DJ's name to open their full profile page. You'll see their bio, ranking, vote count, eCard, social links (if verified), and posts they've published to the DJ Post feed.
Rankings update live. The gold crown marks the current #1 DJ in each category.

Royalty — King, Queen, Prince & Princess

1
What is Royalty?
Every month the community votes to crown four titles: King of Amapiano, Queen of Amapiano, Prince of Amapiano and Princess of Amapiano. Winners are crowned on the last day of the month and announced in the Amapiano Feed.
2
Cast a Royalty Vote
Go to Royalty in the navigation. Select a title tab (King, Queen, Prince or Princess). Browse the DJ grid and click Vote on your choice. You get one vote per title per month — you can change it at any time before the month ends.
3
Crowning Day
On the last day of each month the DJ with the most votes in each title is automatically crowned. Their crown appears on the Royalty page and an announcement appears in the Amapiano Feed on the homepage.
4
Past Champions
Scroll to the bottom of the Royalty page to see the Hall of Fame — a full table of every past King, Queen, Prince and Princess with the month they reigned and their vote count.
New royalty votes reset each month so every month is a fresh competition. Past winners are preserved in the Hall of Fame.

Keep it respectful. Harassment, threats or doxxing in any section — public or private — will result in your account being suspended. Private messages are stored on our servers and may be reviewed if a complaint is received.

Dance of the Month

1
What is Dance of the Month?
Each month the community competes to find the best Amapiano dance video. Submit a video link, vote on submissions, and also vote on your favourite dance style. The most-voted video and dance type win the month's title.
2
Submit a Dance Video
Click Dance in the nav. In the Submit form, enter a title, paste your video URL (YouTube, TikTok or Instagram), select the dance style, add your social media link if you want to be credited, and add a short description. Click Submit. YouTube links embed directly; TikTok and Instagram show as a clickable thumbnail.
3
Vote on Videos
Scroll through the video submissions and click Vote on the one you think deserves to win. The top three videos get a 🥇🥈🥉 medal. You can only vote once per video.
4
Vote on Dance Style
In the right sidebar, click your favourite dance style from the eight available: Gwara Gwara, Zanele Move, Log Drum Shuffle, Wave Dance, Yano Bounce, Isicuphe, Vosho, and Original Style. The bars show which style is winning the community vote this month.
Share your social media link when submitting so viewers can follow you if they love your dancing!

Events

1
Browse Events
Click Events in the nav. All upcoming Amapiano events are listed, sorted by date. Each card shows the venue, city, date, and attending count.
2
RSVP
Click an event to open it. Use the Attending or Maybe buttons to RSVP. You can change your status at any time.
3
Post an Event
Logged-in users can submit events. Click Post an Event on the Events page. Fill in the title, venue, city, date, time, and optionally the performing DJ's name plus Facebook and Instagram links for the event page.

Private Parties

1
Choose a Party Type
Click Create Party to open the full create page and pick a type: VIPs Only, VVIP, Get Together, Players & Divas, Dress White Only, or Big Spenders & Gold Diggers. The type decides whether it's invite-only, open, or request-to-attend.
2
VIP / VVIP Follower Requirement
VIPs Only needs at least 500 followers and VVIP at least 1,000. If you're not there yet, the page gives you tools to grow your following — invite people you know and share your profile to social media. Verified DJs at half the target may receive temporary approval.
3
Set Details, Entry, Safety & Rules
Add name, venue, city, date, time, max guests and dress code — then your minimum age, pricing, security presence, guest/plus-one policy, drinks policy (free / cash bar / BYOB), refund policy for paid parties, and house rules.
4
Invite Guests (incl. Instagram / Facebook)
Pick members to invite, or add an Instagram/Facebook name to invite someone off-platform and copy a ready-made invite message to DM them. For request-to-attend types, members request a spot and you approve or decline each one.
5
Drug-Free Parties
Amapianos promotes drug-free parties. It's about the music, the dance and the community. Illegal drugs must never be supplied, used or promoted at parties listed here. Mark your event drug-free, drink responsibly, and look out for one another.
6
Manage Questions & Concerns
Anyone considering your party can ask a question or raise a concern from the party page — these come to you, the organiser (and your appointed safety contact), not site staff. Open Manage to read and reply (concerns are flagged red). You can appoint a trusted member as your safety contact — they must accept first. These conversations are archived and kept for 90 days after the event, then automatically deleted.

Fan Wishlist

1
What is the Fan Wishlist?
The Fan Wishlist is your chance to tell DJs and promoters where you want the next Amapiano party. Submit a wishlist with your city, venue idea, preferred date and time. The community votes (fire-votes 🔥) the most popular requests to the top.
2
Add a Party Wishlist
Click the Add Party Wishlist tab. Select a preferred DJ (optional), enter your city and venue name, pick a date or time period, and write a message to the DJs explaining why your city deserves a party.
3
Fire-Vote Other Wishlists
Browse the All Wishlists tab. Click the 🔥 button on any wishlist to support it. The most fire-voted wishlists rise to the top and are flagged as "Hot Requests". Remove your vote by clicking again.

DJ Events & Appearances

1
What is DJ Events & Appearances?
The DJ Events section is a community-powered calendar where anyone can post and discover where DJs are performing — club nights, festivals, private events, radio sessions and more. Appearances are sorted by event date so the soonest shows appear first.
2
Post a DJ Appearance
Any logged-in member can post an appearance. Click Post Appearance (amber button, top-right). Type any DJ name — existing DJs are suggested as you type, but you can enter any new name. Fill in the event name, date, time, country, city, venue, minimum age and whether entry is free or paid. A source link crediting your username is automatically generated from Amapianos.com. Tick the Mark as shared on social media checkbox if you're also posting the event on your own socials.
3
Share an Appearance on Social Media
Every appearance card shows one-click share buttons for Twitter/X, Facebook, and WhatsApp. The pre-filled message includes the DJ name, event name, city, and date, with a link back to the DJ's Amapianos profile.
4
Search & Delete
Use the search bar to filter appearances by DJ name, event title, city, or country. If you posted an appearance, a Delete button appears on the card — click it to remove the entry permanently. Admins can delete any appearance.
Appearances are community-posted and not verified by Amapianos. Always confirm event details through the DJ's official channels or the event organiser before attending.

DJ Removal Rights

1
Every DJ Has the Right to Be Removed
Any DJ listed on Amapianos — or their authorised representative (manager, agent, label, legal rep, or family member) — has the unconditional right to request that their name, biography, profile and all associated content be permanently removed from the site. No reason is required.
2
How to Request Removal
Go to the DJ's profile page (find them on the Vote DJs page and click their name). Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Request Removal to expand the form. Enter your name, your relationship to the DJ, and an optional reason. Click Submit Removal Request. Your request is sent directly to the site administrator.
3
What Happens Next
All removal requests are reviewed by the site administrator. Verified requests are processed within 7 business days. Upon confirmation, the DJ's name, bio, real name, country, social handles, votes, posts and all other associated content are permanently deleted from the site and cannot be recovered.
This right is guaranteed under UK GDPR and the South African POPIA. Read more in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

My Page

1
What is My Page?
My Page is your personal mini-feed within Amapianos. You can share your bio, photos, text posts, events you're attending, and business intros — all with fine-grained privacy control over who can see what. Visit it from the Go to My Page link on your profile.
2
Share Content to My Page
Open your profile and click the Share tab. From there you can share your bio, Piano Share posts, events you've RSVPed to, and business intros. Each share type prompts a confirmation. Click Share Events to open the event picker — tick the events you want to share, or use Share All for everything at once. For business intros with multiple entries, a similar modal lets you select which intros to share.
3
Search & Filter Your Posts
Your My Page posts tab has a search bar and type filter pills (All, Photos, Videos, Text) so you can quickly find any post in your collection. The filters update the grid instantly without reloading.
4
Remove a Post
To remove any post — photo, video, text, event or story — look for the red Remove button on the bottom-right of each post card. This button is only visible to the page owner. Click it and confirm to permanently delete the post and its media file from the server.
5
My Bio on My Page
Your profile bio appears in a dedicated box at the top of your My Page. Use the Privacy Settings section to choose who can see your bio: Everyone, Followers only, Selected people, or Private (only you).
6
Page Visibility
Separately from bio visibility, you can control who can view your entire My Page: Everyone (public), Followers only, Selected people (you choose specific members), or Private. Both settings are saved together in the Privacy Settings form.
Your role badge (Music Fan / DJ) appears in the green banner at the top of your My Page so visitors immediately see who they're looking at.

Business & Service Intros

1
What are Business Intros?
The Business & Service Intros section on your profile lets you create short introductions for services or businesses you offer — DJ bookings, production services, event planning, photography, merchandise, and so on. Each intro has a title and description.
2
Add an Intro
Open your profile and scroll to the About tab. Click + Add Business / Service Intro to expand the form. Enter a title (e.g. "DJ Booking – Joburg") and a description of what you offer, then click Save Intro. It appears immediately in your intro list with an amber accent card.
3
Share an Intro to Your My Page
Click the Share Intro button in the About tab. If you have a single intro, it shares directly after confirmation. If you have multiple intros, a modal appears letting you select which ones to share — use Select All for a bulk share or tick individual entries. Click Share Selected to publish them to your My Page.
4
Delete an Intro
Each intro card has a × delete button. Clicking it permanently removes that intro from your profile. Shared copies on your My Page are not automatically removed — delete them separately from My Page if needed.

Beat Studio — Make Amapiano Beats

The Beat Studio is a fully in-browser 16-step amapiano sequencer — no downloads, no plugins. Runs on any phone or desktop. Go to /beats to open it.

1
Transport Bar — Play, BPM & Volume
Click Play (or press Space) to start the beat. Use the BPM slider (90–130) to set the tempo — 108–116 is classic amapiano. The Vol slider controls master output.
2
Drums — 9 Tracks
Click any square in the Drums section to activate it. Tracks: Log Drum (signature amapiano percussion), Kick, Snare, Clap, Hi-Hat Closed, Hi-Hat Open, Rim, Shaker, Perc. Try log drum on steps 1, 4 and 5 — that's the classic amapiano log pattern.
3
Piano Chops (8 notes) & Bass (4 notes)
Piano has 8 notes from the active scale. Click steps to place chop hits — scatter 3–4 notes at irregular steps for an authentic amapiano feel. Bass is deep and minimal; typically 1–2 hits per 4 beats. Try the root note (bottom row) on step 1 and step 9.
4
Scale Switcher
Click a scale pill — Eb min · Ab min · F min · Bb min · C min · G min — to change key instantly. Pattern stays; all piano and bass notes retune. Bb minor and Ab minor are classic amapiano keys.
5
Swing & Room
Swing (15–30%) gives a shuffled groove. Room (40–60%) adds convolution reverb for that cavernous amapiano space. Both update live while the beat plays.
6
Mute · Solo · Velocity
M mutes a track; S solos it. Right-click any lit step to set its velocity (1–127). Ghost notes at 30–40, accents at 100–127 — velocity variation makes beats feel human.
7
Share & Save
Share encodes your full beat into a URL — send to anyone, they open the exact same pattern. Save (login required) stores your beat to your profile and optionally publishes it to the Beat Gallery for the community to discover.
8
Export MIDI & WAV
MIDI downloads a Format 1 .mid file (drums + piano + bass + tempo track, swing encoded). Open in any DAW. WAV renders 1–8 bars of stereo 44100Hz audio offline in your browser, then downloads. All reverb and volume is baked in — ready to share or drop into production.
Quick start: Click Groove preset → switch to Bb minor → Swing 20% → Room 45% → you have an authentic amapiano foundation ready to export.

Voice Editor — Record & Process Vocals

The Voice Editor sits below Beat Studio at /beats. It gives you a professional in-browser recording studio — up to 3 layered tracks, 4 sample pads, a full effects rack, and WAV export. No plugins required.

1
Record on a Track
Click REC on any of the 3 tracks. A 3-2-1 countdown fires, then recording begins from your microphone. Click STOP to end. The waveform appears immediately on the canvas. Record on multiple tracks to layer vocals, harmonies, or ad-libs.
2
Trim with In/Out Sliders
Each track has an In and Out trim slider. Drag them to remove silence at the start or end — the trimmed region is shown greyed-out on the waveform. Trim is non-destructive: slide back to recover the audio.
3
Fade In & Fade Out
Use the Fade In and Out sliders (0–500 ms) per track to eliminate pops and clicks at clip edges. A smooth fade-in removes breath noise at the start; a fade-out prevents abrupt cut-offs. Fades are baked into WAV export.
4
Load Sample Pads
The Sample Pads section has 4 pads. Click Load on any pad to open a local audio file (MP3, WAV, OGG). Hit the play button to fire the sample through the full effects chain. Samples are included in WAV export. Files stay in your browser — nothing is uploaded until you click Save.
5
Dial in the Effects Rack
All 8 effects are applied in real-time to every track and sample:
Reverb — adds room depth. Try 20–40% for intimacy, 60%+ for drama.
EQ Bass / Treble — ±12 dB shelving. Cut bass below 200 Hz to remove boominess; boost treble at 6 kHz for presence.
Compressor — evens out dynamics. 50–70% gives radio-ready upfront sound.
Noise Gate — mutes silence between words, cutting room noise. Start at 30–40%.
De-esser — reduces harsh "s" and "sh" sounds at 7.5 kHz. Use 3–6 dB.
De-noise — high-pass filter that removes low-frequency room rumble. 20–40% removes most hum.
Pitch — shifts pitch in semitone steps without changing tempo. ±2 st for tuning correction.
Speed — changes playback speed (0.5×–2.0×). Note: also shifts pitch like a tape machine.
6
Spectrum Analyser
The green bar display at the top of the Voice Editor shows the real-time frequency spectrum while playing. Low bars on the left = bass frequencies; high bars on the right = treble. Use it to spot problem frequencies and judge your EQ settings by eye.
7
Export WAV
Click Export WAV to render all non-muted tracks and samples offline at 44.1 kHz 16-bit stereo, with all effects baked in. The file downloads to your device. No data is sent to our servers during export.
8
Save to Profile
Enter a clip name, choose Public or Private, then click Save to Profile. The audio uploads to the server and appears in My Saved Clips below. You can play clips back inline or delete them at any time.
